We're home.

We're home! We had a fun day. Greg and I enjoyed the time together in the car... played a lot of CDs and sang along. After several hours in the car with someone, it's nice to be home. Jaina slept the whole way down there and back so there's a decent chance we'll have a late night tonight.

Good morning!

Jaina and I have been up since about 5:30 this morning. She ate and fell asleep so I put her back to bed and she decided she wanted to play! It sounded like she was awake so I went to check on her and she was very smiley and happy to see her mommy! We played for about 30 minutes before she decided it was time to get cranky and go back to sleep.

I got her some toys at Baby Depot (in Burlington Coat Factory). I had Thursday off from work so I went shopping with my mom. I never knew that place was there!!! It has tons of baby clothes and toys. A lot of it is the exact same stuff they have at JCPenney, only 1/2 the price.

Yesterday was my first day back to work full time. It wasn't fun, but at least I was able to keep busy. Jordan was here because she's on Spring Break so she took care of Jaina. We had lunch (Chinese food) with a bunch of people and she brought her to see me at work!

I hope the weather is OK today. Right now it is VERY windy... like windy enough to make me turn the TV on and make sure we're not under any kind of warnings. We're driving to see Candie, Greg, and the kids so we can have all the little ones together at one time. I'm not really looking forward to 4 hours each way in the car with an infant, but maybe it won't be too bad.

Picture overload

Friday afternoon we went and spent a few hours with Chrystal, Ben, and Daniel and then stayed the night with my parents. Then Saturday we went over to see Greg's Memaw and out to eat at Cracker Barrel. Here are some pictures from Friday.

Happy 2 months old!!!

"Look, mom, I have a tongue!!!"

Somebody was getting jealous... I'll let you figure out who.

Some pictures from tummy time tonight!

Tired, sleepy baby.
I don't think she feels so great. She keeps spitting up. We've given her gas drops and gripe water, but she's not keeping any of it down.

...

Make that five shirts.

Wow!

For a couple of nights, Jaina has been half-way rolling over. She'll get stuck with her face down and her body on it's side. Well, tonight we're in the floor playing and she rolls over! I didn't see all of it, just the end. My friend, Candace, also saw it so I know I'm not completely crazy. According to this, she's not supposed to be able to roll over for at least another month!

***********INSERT 45 MINUTE BREAK**************

In the past 45 minutes I've been thrown up on, peed on, and gone through about 4 shirts. Seriously.

OOPS!

I wrote this with intentions of posting it Friday when I got home from work. Didn't happen. So here it is!

Lets see… Work was crazy slow and boring yesterday. Last night we had stuffed pork chops for supper. They were really not that great. I put Jaina in her high chair in the kitchen so she could be in there with me while I cooked. Then she fell asleep and I kinda forgot I had a kid for about 20 minutes… I went into the living room to eat and was about half way done before I remembered her! She’s just a good baby! I hated to wake a sleeping baby, so we just left her there for about 45 minutes until she woke up.

I worked this morning instead of this afternoon so we can go down to the great city of Malvern today. I left for work this morning and Jaina had been up for about five minutes. She and Greg were on the couch and he was feeding her. They probably slept on the couch and watched cartoons the entire time I was at work! Work was slow again. I guess it’s nice to get me back into it slowly.

Yesterday

Yesterday went great... considering I let someone else keep Jaina for over 5 hours. She sent me hourly updates via text messaging! I met her at work. She took Jaina to the Mexican restaurant down the street (literally next door to the bank) and then brought her back before they left so I could tell her goodbye. I know most of the girls that work at the restaurant, so they sent me back dessert!

I had no customers yesterday at all. I did not have a single customer come to my desk. I did not answer one phone call... Oh, I take that back. The only customer I talked to on the phone I had helped a couple of days before. She was NOT happy about what I had to tell her and chose to express herself with foul language... and her situation was totally not my fault.

Jaina has learned how to "fake cry" when there is really nothing wrong, she just wants attention. She's been doing this for about a week now. Maybe this is horrible of me, but I think it's really cute.

I just realized I have to leave for work in an hour and I haven't even had a shower yet. Grrr.

I let myself sleep a little late today... and by that I mean I considered staying up at 5:30 when I fed Jaina, but she went back to sleep and was just so cuddly that we went back to bed and slept until 10:30. I woke up at about 3:00 AM and found Greg asleep (snoring loudly) in the living room floor. He had one hand on his keyboard (also on the floor) and the other on the PlayStation controller, while Jaina was sleeping soundly in her bouncy seat. I told him to go to bed but he just ignored me... So I just rolled my eyes and left him asleep in the floor.

I'm working tomorrow morning so I can have the afternoon off. Maybe we will spend tomorrow night with my mom so we can hang out with Chrystal some while she is here.

Wednesday, March 18

I just went to get Jaina up. I fed her and changed her but she refused to wake up. She ate, burped a couple of times, and went back to sleep...just like her daddy! This was the most I could get out of her... an evil "leave me alone and let me go back to sleep" look.

I even let Lady help!

One might ask, "If you are on the computer and have time to make a blog of your life story in pictures, where is Jaina right now?"

She's in her crib, of course! It's the first time she's slept in it for more than 5 minutes without waking up and crying. I'm kinda happy about that since she's getting to the point where she shakes the whole bassinet when she kicks around- which she does A LOT in her sleep.

Happy Annniversary to us!

Wow! It's been 3 years. That's all I can say. Wow. We've been through a lot... and we still love each other! And let's not forget the beautiful little girl that has come into our lives and changed us forever. OK, enough sappiness for now!

Yesterday I got home from work and Greg had baked a cake, cleaned the kitchen, and folded a couple loads of clothes. He took care of Jaina all night last night so I could sleep. I woke up at 3 AM and about freaked out because she wasn't in the bassinet and I couldn't find her in my bed. I dunno what I was thinking... I guess I thought she might be lost in the sheets? Ha! My mind was obviously not completely there at the time! Then I remembered she started crying when I was trying to go to sleep. Greg came and got her and shut the bedroom door so Lady and I would not be bothered and we could sleep in peace... which then led me to worry that she was actually in the other room screaming while Greg snored very loudly on the couch (which, by the way, was not the case). A lot of times he does not wake up when she cries because of all his medications. I got about 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Other than the massive anxiety attack in the middle of the night, it was nice!

My friend, Candace, and her mom are going to keep Jaina while I'm at work today so Greg can have a little break and so we can go out to eat or something before church tonight since its our anniversary. I'm a little (OK, maybe a lot) nervous about it, but I trust both of them.

Tuesday, March 17

So much for going to bed last night. Some little girl decided she wanted to be held for a while. Then she wanted to eat, and for some reason did not want to sleep in a poopy diaper... imagine that! She would eat a little, fall asleep, and as soon as I would put her down she would decide she wanted to wake up and eat some more. I did this until about 1:30 and then Greg got up with her for a couple of hours. I fed her again about 3:30 and she slept until this morning.

Jaina just woke up. I went to get her and went and laid down in the bed with Greg. As SOON as she saw him, she started smiling and giggling and "talking" to him. We've got a little Daddy's girl! Then I said, "You just wanted in the bed with us, didn't you?" She just smiled away. I'll have to get the camera out tonight sometime.

My first day back

My first day back to work wasn't really as bad as I thought it would be. It wasn't great though. Somehow I didn't break down. I'm completely worn out for the day... off to bed. Maybe I'll get up early tomorrow and do all the things I said I was going to get up early and do today!

My baby's growing up! :(

I just went to change Jaina's clothes... her legs are too long for her 0-3 month clothes! Just when they fit her perfectly everywhere else, her little long legs are too long! Her feet have been just *almost* too big for the sleepers for about a week. So now my 7 week old child is in 3-6 month clothes. Oh, well. I guess that's normal. At least we know she's a healthy baby!

Here are those pictures!

Ugh... part II

OK, so I called the lady at the bank who worked on our mortgage (since I know her) and she told me to call our realtor. When I called her office, they said she no longer worked for their company but that I should have received all of the warranty information in the mail. Ugh. So I dig through my massive pile of stuff that I've been accumulating over the past year (bank statements, doctor bills, and other stuff to file) and finally find it. YAY! I called the seller and her husband is out of town, but she'll call me when she gets off the phone with him later today or possibly tomorrow so I'll know what to do. Apparently wherever he is has horrible reception so she has to wait for him to call her to talk. So I'm kinda just stuck staring at a wet place on my ceiling and a swollen (for lack of a better word) wall for now. At least she was very nice about it!

So it's 11:30 and I've mopped, done about 4 loads of laundry (although I still need to finish folding and putting up), washed dishes, fed Jaina twice, watched an episode of Frasier (for some reason that seemed worthy of mentioning), and played around on Facebook and Myspace on top of all that other stuff.

Ugh...

The roof is leaking... I'm trying to find the number for whoever we need to call, but I've gone through all the paperwork from when we bought the house and can't find it. It does say in our contract that the seller had to provide a 1 year warranty, but that's all I can find. I guess this will be my project for the day... on top of taking care of Jaina, doing laundry, and cleaning the house (which happens to be a disaster right now).

Pics

Here are all of the pictures of the first month of Jaina's life! They're all on Facebook, so you should be able to see them.

Busy day!

Today Greg had an appointment in Little Rock. I have no idea what they talked about because the doc wanted to see just him today. And of course Greg was just like, "I don't know, stuff."After they were done talking, he called me in and asked if I thought we were making any progress and stuff like that. I mentioned the CPAP machine and he said it is too dangerous for him to use it without having a sleep study. Then we came home, I went to to Wal-mart, and now we're about to get ready for church tonight.

Hmmm...

My mom keeps telling me Jaina looks a lot like Jordan did when she was a baby. So last night my mom sends me this picture of Jordan when she was little, but didn't tell me it was of Jordan. I said to Greg, "That looks kinda like our kid, but I know that's not our carseat!" Then my mom called a few minutes later and told us it was a picture of Jordan. So, of course, I went and found the picture that resembles that pose the closest to compare.

Kinda cool, huh?

Almost forgot!!

Here's one of just the little angel!
